Craig McFarlane Imprimer
Craig is an associate in the Estate and Succession Law and Business Law practice groups. His practice focuses broadly on estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation as well as disability and capacity litigation, and general corporate and commercial law.
He is available to assist clients with all aspects of estate planning, administration, and litigation ranging from young clients looking to write their first will to clients with complex family and business structures requiring custom solutions and to clients who want to contest the distribution of assets in a will.
He is available to assist business clients with general corporate and commercial assistance including incorporation, reorganizations and corporate records, contracts and agreements, and mergers and acquisitions.
He also works with disabled clients and their advocates and can assist with capacity issues, including litigation. He is eager to assist disabled clients and their families overcome institutional barriers.
Craig completed his JD in Common Law at the University of Ottawa in 2022, articled at a securities law firm, and was called to the bar in 2023. He is currently pursuing the prestigious international Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Trust and Estate Practitioner (TEP) designation. Prior to studying and practicing law, he completed a PhD in Sociology at York University and a MA in Sociology at Carleton University. He taught legal studies and sociology at Carleton University and Queen’s University, including courses on property, regulation, legal theory, human rights, animal rights, and violence, for fifteen years.
Craig is a member of the Law Society of Ontario, the Canadian Bar Association, the County of Carleton Law Association, and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
