Communication Tip

Communication Tip

I received this bit of advice from Elisha Goldstein who is an author and speaker on Mindfulness.

It is particularly relevant when dealing with a separated partner, but it is applicable in general.

We’ve all put our foot in our mouth at some point, but there are three questions to begin experimenting with to increase mindful communication when saying, texting or messaging anything to family, friends, co-workers or strangers.

  • Is it true?
  • Is it necessary?
  • Is it kind?

Experiment with asking these three  when interacting with anyone, see what you notice.

If you wish to get any advice about managing the communication between yourself and your former spouse or partner, speak with any of the members of the Family Law Group at LMR.
