Civil Litigation
Lucas Cutler Print
Lucas completed law school as a mature student and was called to the bar in 2018. He began his career in a full-service firm where he gained invaluable experience in various areas of law before pivoting in 2020 to a career strictly in civil litigation.
He has represented clients at the Landlord and Tenant Board, the Ontario Human Rights Tribunal, Small Claims and Superior Court settlement conferences and trials, as well as successfully arguing a 15-day trial before the Canadian Investment Regulatory Investment Hearing Panel. Additionally, he has acted in matters before the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Supreme Court of Canada, and the Federal Human Rights Tribunal.
Lucas always approaches litigation through a cost-benefit lens and therefore is adept at reaching settlement through negotiation, mediation and pre-trial conferences.
Lucas is a recipient of the Governor General of Canada medal for academic excellence and a winner of the Queen Elizabeth II Scholarship.
He recently fulfilled a life long dream by becoming an author with the think tank, the C.D. Howe Institute.
